After four children and a hysterectomy, I’d put weight on. I had managed to lose a stone and to try and keep it off, I started going to the local Leisure Centre. However I only ever went on one piece of equipment – the cross trainer – as I had never been given a proper routine and so inevitably I got bored and stopped going. I put the weight back on.
I decided to try BodyFit Express. At first I was dubious as I was used to doing 40 minutes on the cross trainer at a time. How could just half an hour work? However the circuit provides me with a total body workout. It has 100% toned me up and I feel great. It has changed my life. I have much more confidence and it’s nice to be able to shop for new clothes.
I didn’t realise how unfit I had become. I used to get out of breath easily. Now my partner can’t keep up with me!
The BodyFit Express Slimming Club is the other reason that I have lost the weight. I don’t like slimming classes but this is great as I can just come and get weighed in when it’s convenient. And winning lots of vouchers gives me an added boost and keeps me motivated.
At BodyFit Express I have found something I can stick with and I know that I’m going to hit my target weight. I’m looking forward to being able to borrow clothes from my daughters and feeling like a trendy Mum instead of a fat one!

We have thirty minute (or less) scheduled circuits that fit into just about everyone’s lifestyle: perfect if you’re juggling work, family, or other commitments. Or you may find it boring to have to spend hours at the gym!
It’s friendly and non-intimidating
Almost all of our female customers like exercising in a single-sex gym. Our members can range between the ages of 11 and 89, and our staff can develop personal plans for all levels of fitness. This gym is designed to give anyone the freedom to exercise regardless of health problems, whether or not they’re able to participate in conventional gyms.
Many individuals, no matter their age or level of fitness, can feel intimidated in gyms. There are other members of our staff who will be willing to give you a supportive, encouraging smile while you work out so that you’ll never be on your own in a place you feel lonely. It’s an excellent opportunity to make new friends with people of like minds. Everyone is working out at the right intensity for them, and you are the only one who can get to benefit from your efforts, so no one can see your progress. To assuage your fears, we have a no-risk policy as well, so you can relax!
